People will do anything, no matter how absurd that might be, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious” Carl Gustav Jung

Module 4: “Illnesses & Symptoms” Structure

In this course, the participants get the opportunity to explore their (or their families) illnesses and/or symptoms, blockages as well as their healing potential. Participants can experience or access their inner process through a skillfully guided combination of the creative expression and constellations (applied Art Therapy through the Jungian approach & Bert Hellinger’s latest work of Silent/Spiritual Constellations).

Through our work together we will connect to our hidden sides, our needs and challenges and journey into the unknown of the hidden dynamics in our soul and in our family. With light and kindness, we dive into the wisdom and power from within us and allow what is ready for us to see, to appear. With the help of the constellations and the creative work we search for answers and ways to inner and outer harmony, towards wholeness.

The teaching is based on the philosophy of Bert Hellinger and from his latest work and insight from constellations; Theory of Carl Gustav Jung; and from my own experience from 17 years of work with Art Therapy and Constellations and 15 years as a nurse, teacher, supervisor/coach at the intensive care unit and psychiatric unit at the Kongsberg Psychiatric Hospital, Norway.

Program
Introduction to the theme, creative work and constellations
Deepening the theme “Illnesses & symptoms” through creative work, constellations, meditations and exercises. There will be teaching of different themes, questions/answers and much more.

In this module, we will explore and work together with themes like:

● Theory – how to work with art/creative expressions in a therapeutic way
● Dynamics behind physical and mental illnesses and symptoms
● Exploration of old patterns in families and patterns in life

● Chronic illnesses and Pains (ME, MS, IBS, Digestive issues etc.)
● Mental illnesses (fears, anxiety, panic attacks, psychosis,

About Pia’s work & approach

Through my nursing professions, as an intensive care nurse, I gained experience with people in deep grief and crisis. Patients and their families, adults and children. I found that the “saving” is not only the survival of the physical body by using medicine and respirator. Attending to the patient with touch, voice and eyes had a great influence on the patient and the courage and strength to fight for survival. Many powerful experiences and encounters with people have had an influence on both my humanity and my areas of interest. The main topics I have covered as a lecturer, while teaching various groups throughout my life have been: “Children in grief and crisis,” “Children of Intensive Care as patients or as relatives”, “Trauma Patient”, “Relatives in crisis”, “Life and Death”, “The meeting between people and the importance of eyes, voice and the hands”. Later on, I moved into Art Therapy and Family Constellations and through these two methods combined together with my nursing/illness background, today I feel that my healing contribution to those on a healing journey, is much wider and it’s also supported by a bigger power. In my work with constellations, I allow myself to move together with the processes and the movements of the group, in a spiritual and healing way. I have no intentions or agenda of my own nor do I intend to save a client. The client will be supported to find his or her’s own strength, path and healing.

Pia’s Story

I was introduced to Bert Hellinger’s work with constellations in 2003. A new path had started for me and it has been my path ever since. I have met Bert Hellinger in person for the first time in 2007 and I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to follow him until his death in September 2019.

Bert Hellinger’s latest work with Family Constellations has evolved to a more spiritual level, with movements that support life and love, being completely guided by the spirit, rather than following a methodological approach. First Family Constellation was a psycotherapeutic method, then it evolved throughout the years to “The Movement of The Soul” then to “The Movement of the Spirit Mind” and then to “The Spiritual Constellation”. Witnessing and experiencing the Spiritual Constellations lead by Bert Hellinger has touched me (like many others) very deeply, hence the integration of his latest approach in my current practice.

Bert Hellinger was my greatest teacher and Inspirator. He gave so much to so many people and my wish and work have been focused on passing on his teachings through the gifts and insights I’ve got and developed throughout the last years.

Education & Work

I started my career as an intensive care nurse, followed by various supervisory roles within the medical field until 2008. In 2002 I became a qualified Art Therapist and later I held the position of an Art Therapist with the Kongsberg Psychiatric Hospital, Norway for two years.

Through Bert Hellinger’s intensive training seminars held between 2009 and 2018, I have witnessed, experienced and learnt the developments and the art of the new “Moving with the Spirit Mind” and “Spiritual Constellations” approaches.

Apart from following and participating in Bert Hellinger’s intensives, I have also participated in workshops of Jakob Schneider, Jan Jacob Stam and Franz Ruppert.

I have started my own practice of Family Constellations, Art Therapy, Counselling and Yoga in 2004. Later, I became the founder and the director of ”Family Constellations and Art Therapy” in Norway. As of 2009, I’ve been offering 2-year long training programs in “Family Constellations & Art Therapy”.
