What Causes Illness in Families & What Heals

Illness is often deeply interwoven with family dynamics, as unconscious patterns of loyalty and systemic imbalances can manifest as physical and mental health issues. Many individuals unknowingly take on suffering, guilt, or illness in an attempt to restore balance or carry the burdens of past generations.

Key insights:
The love that makes us ill – when we unconsciously take on suffering to help those we love.
The love that heals – when we acknowledge hidden entanglements and release what does not belong to us.
The systemic need for balance – how family members may sacrifice their health or happiness to compensate for others’ suffering.

Through Family Constellations, we gain clarity and release, shifting from unconscious sacrifice to conscious healing.

This weekend offers a safe and supportive space to explore personal or family-related illnesses, blockages, and healing potential. Using a skillful blend of Spiritual Family Constellations and creative expression, we will uncover hidden soul dynamics and journey towards greater harmony.

No Prior Experience Needed

This weekend is open to all, whether for personal healing or professional development. No prior experience in Family Constellations or creative work is required—though a background in self-development can enhance the experience.

About Me – Pia Storm Kalhof

Hi, I’m Pia Storm Kalhof. My journey into healing and transformation began as an intensive care nurse, where I worked closely with people in grief, trauma, and crisis—both patients and their families. Through these experiences, I came to understand that true healing goes beyond medicine. Presence, touch, and human connection play a vital role in recovery and transformation.

Over time, my path led me to Art Therapy and Family Constellations, where I discovered a way to integrate my medical background with deep systemic and spiritual healing. In my work with Spiritual Constellations, I don’t follow rigid methods or aim to “fix” anything—instead, I move with the process, allowing healing to unfold naturally, helping each person connect with their own inner strength and path forward.

My Journey with Family Constellations

I was first introduced to Bert Hellinger’s work in 2003, and from the moment I encountered Family Constellations, I knew this was my path. I had the privilege of meeting Hellinger in 2007 and continued learning from him until his passing in 2019. Over the years, I witnessed his work evolve from a therapeutic method into Spiritual Constellations, where healing is guided entirely by the movements of the soul and spirit.

His teachings have shaped my own practice, and I feel honored to pass on his wisdom in my work today.

My Background & Experience

  • Former Intensive Care Nurse with experience in trauma, crisis, and end-of-life care
  • Qualified Art Therapist (2002), worked at Kongsberg Psychiatric Hospital, Norway
  • Trained extensively with Bert Hellinger (2009–2018) in Spiritual Constellations
  • Further studies with Jakob Schneider, Jan Jacob Stam, and Franz Ruppert
  • Founder of “Family Constellations & Art Therapy” in Norway
  • Teaching & facilitating since 2004, offering 2-year Family Constellations & Art Therapy training since 2009

I warmly welcome you to explore this work with me—whether through workshops, trainings, or private sessions. Healing is a journey, and I am honored to walk alongside those who seek clarity, balance, and transformation.

People will do anything, no matter how absurd that might be, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious” Carl Gustav Jung
